MirrorShine’s Car of the Week is the 2006 BMW M6. At first glance it appears to be the 350 BHP 650i series, but no. This BMW has 400 BHP for puttering around town and 107 BHP reserve for when you’re puttering around the highway. Just push the ‘Sport’ button and you’ll have 507 BHP at your disposal. A 5-Liter V10 which incorporates double –VANOS variable valve timing with ten individual throttle butterflies, is what provides this power. The car is feature rich with technology still only available on the most high end cars for this year. The roof is a clear carbon fiber which weighs only 10 lbs. Overall the car weighs over a hundred pounds less with the carbon fiber panels and that provides a lower center of gravity, which is one of the reasons this car is so much fun to drive (and a reminder to never wrestle with someone who has a lower center of gravity)

Top speed is limited to 155, over 200 with limiter removed. The car feels like it is stuck to the road when driving even at high speeds. As some have commented, 100 mph feels like 70 mph. The steering has a silky feel to it, smooth to say the least. The gearbox has 11 modes for an all around, erudite driving experience.
